OIL ON CANVAS
Done using oil colours on pre-painted/stretched canvas cloth, concepts are based on imagination. How does oil differ from other media? Oil uses linseed oil as base for mixtures while acrylic and water colours use water.
WATER COLOR
There are two types of water colors: one is opaque and the other is transparent. In the above samples, the lone tree is an example of an "opaque-type" using gouache poster color on illustration board. The two interior rendering & "ladies" are done using ransparent-type water colors on a pre-stretched strathmore surface paper.
SOFT PASTEL/PORTRAITURE
Soft Pastel and charcoal portraiture have the same techniques of application. The technique is done by smudging some special kinds of sable or synthetic brushes to achieve a very soft and vanishing tone. Portraiture needs a very careful touch on details. There is no need to rush. The principle is to "vanish" and "fade" the edges or imaginary outlines.
INK
STIPPLING - is an ink rendering technique done by doing tiny, tiny dots until achieving a form and shade. It is a tedious and taxing method. This needs careful handling of technical pen or you will ruin its expensive tip!
INFORMAL SKETCHES
Some long forgotten sketches done with 6B / HB pencils and writing pen.
